Well, we’ve all heard in several different news reports about how much data our phones records and just how much info about you it actually maintains.

Apple has certainly been collecting location data from its users for quite some time now, but you will be shocked to learn just how detailed it is and how easy it is for someone to get your phone and check out every place you have been.

Believe it or not, there is a hidden map in your settings menu that shows every location that you have ever visited. It also show when and how often. Kind of creepy, huh?

You can get to it, here’s what you do…

Step 1: From the main Settings menu, select Privacy
Step 2: Select Location Services
Step 3: Scroll all the way down to the bottom to System Services
Step 4: Scroll about 3/4 of the way down to Frequent Locations.

It would be a good idea to go ahead and turn that feature off at this point.

Before you do that, tap on some of the locations that are showing there. They are listed in the order of amount of time spent at each location and it records how often you have visited those locations. Yikes!

I guess this is something that could be somewhat helpful if your tech savvy kids decide they want to know where you are going to purchase their holiday gifts, right?

Who else would need this information? Maybe you can refer back to it when you are writing your autobiography? Hmmm, I doubt it. I turned mine off as soon as I learned about this. Maybe now you want to do the same?
