New York Yankees Great Yogi Berra Dies at 90 [PHOTOS]

Thought by many to be one of the greatest players - and people of all time, Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 90.

The Hall of Fame catcher, who served in the United States Navy during World War II before going to the major leagues, played with the New York Yankees for 18 years out of his 19-year-long career.

He played for a record ten World Series championships with the New York Yankees..

According to the Associated Press, his family has issued a statement saying, "While we mourn the loss of our father. grandfather and great-grandfather, we know he is at peace with Mom."

Berra was known for his quotable sayings, or "Yogi-isms," which made those within earshot think as well as laugh.

According to the CBS News program, "60 Minutes II," with a total of eight quotables, Berra had more quotes in 2002 in "Bartlett's Familiar Quotations" than any living president.

CBS correspondent Mary-Jayne McKay posted a story highlighting "The Wisdom of Yogi-isms: Did He Really Say That?"  Among the quotes highlighted were these:

• "A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore."
• "You can observe a lot by watching."
• "Ninety percent of the game is half mental."

And, of course, "It ain't over 'til it's over."  It will never be over for Berra, who will lives in the hearts of fans past, present, and future, forever.
