Nathan Eovaldi shutdown the Twins and Chase Headley drove in three as the Yankees took the rubber match in Minnesota 8-2 on Sunday.

Eovaldi moved to 10-2, going eight innings, yielding eight hits and striking out five as the Yankees improved to 7-2 since the All-Star break, extending their AL East lead to 6.5 games.

Headley homered - his ninth of the year - giving Alex Rodriguez a day off, a night after A-Rod hit three homers to spark a Yankee rally and win. Stephen Drew also went deep on Sunday, a two-run shot for his 13th of the year.

Minnesota's Kyle Gibson took the loss to drop to 8-8, giving up six runs on six hits and two walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
