With the release of the new Superman movie just around the corner, what better way to promote the film, than with a world's record attempt.

That's exactly what employees did from Sears as they actually set a world's record for the most people dressed as Superman.

Oh, it's not just the guys dressed up either.  Supermen and superwomen suited up by the hundreds at the retailer's headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The company, which is featured prominently in the comic adaptation, furnished 800 costumes to employees, although only 566 of them stayed for the official count by Philip Robertson, an official from the Guinness Book of World Records.

The magic number easily bested the previous record holder, 437, which was set by a company in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in September of 2011.
