Women Who Rock

The white fringed dress Grace Slick wore to Woodstock is among the items included in the Rock Hall’s upcoming “Women Who Rock” exhibit. It will cover everything from Ma Rainey in the 1920s to Lady Gaga of today. Other items on display: Patti Smith’s boots that she repaired with duct tape, Madonna’s pointy gold bustier from the “Blond Ambition” tour, the red leather jacket Chrissie Hynde wore for The Pretenders debut album cover, a bass belonging to Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads and the suit Kim Deal of The Breeders wore in the “Cannonball” video. The exhibit opens May 13th.
