Remember Safyre, the little girl from Albany who wanted Christmas cards from around the world? Well currently they have an organization set up helping sort through these cards still. However, it appears some of the volunteers are stealing from the little girl.

WGY of Albany is reporting that the Rotterdam Police Department received a complaint from the Safyre’s Angels organization on January 25th that volunteers may be stealing from the organization. On February 25th, Rotterdam Detectives arrested Kimberly M. Bradford. She is currently being charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree, a class E felony.

Rotterdam Police tell WGY that Bradford stole $800 in cash and gift cards. Authorities were told that part of her job was to collect money and respond to donors. Suspicions were raised when she began taking her work home with her outside of the office."

Volunteers were called upon to assist the organization in opening the more than 1 million Christmas cards which many contained cash and/or gift cards to local retailers.
