Here we go again — Brett Favre may come out of retirement.

And this time, he could potentially join another polarizing and controversial quarterback.

Amidst rumors that Favre would once again return to the field, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick posted a tweet on Sunday saying he’d love to have the future Hall-of-Famer serve as his backup.

In his tweet, which he later removed, Vick wrote, “I would be honored to have Brett Farve as a backup. That will be amazing Learning how to toy with defenses the way he did his whole career.”

Philadelphia sports radio station WIP reported the Eagles have expressed interest in signing Favre when and if current Eagles backup QB Kevin Kolb is traded, pending the outcome of the NFL lockout.

Don’t run out to get your Eagles number four jersey just yet, though. His good friend and former teammate with the Minnesota Vikings, Ryan Longwell, says Favre won’t be returning anytime soon, noting,”I talk to him at least once a week. We are good friends. He is doing great; his family is doing great. He is really excited about not having any questions about whether he is coming back or not. There is no doubt. He is really doing well.”

Sure, like we haven’t heard that one before, right?
