It's no secret the Utica area is proud of their Italian heritage and the foods that all began here.  For example, I've been told Half Moons were developed right here in Utica, and then of course, the holiday favorite "Turkey Joints", made in Rome, NY.   But one of the most famous recipes...and delicious, is Chicken Riggies.

I've heard they were started by a guy named "Scamardo", I"ve heard they were developed in the kitchen at Chesterfields, and so many others have taken credit for the Utica favorite.

Do you know where the chicken riggie recipe was actually developed? I would love to know.
