I had a doctors appointment at Basset Hospital in Cooperstown recently. On the drive there my husband and I had decided to have breakfast for dinner. He was in the mood for my homemade sausage gravy and biscuits.

I was starving after my appointment so we unexpectedly went to get something to eat. Since I'm from the area I said "I know the perfect place." The Cooperstown Diner. We actually found a parking spot right out front and got a seat right away at the counter. Normally there is a line outside waiting to get in. They say they are so small, they only have 1/2 an address! Actually true it's 136 1/2 Main St. Cooperstown.

Because of our dinner plans we were really surprised to find out that all home-cooked sandwiches, sides, lunch plates and platters are available anytime. Even at breakfast time! I don't know what kind of medicine I was given but I was starving! I wanted the junior burger. I asked the waitress what were the most popular fries folks order. On the menu they have seasoned fries, curly fries, steak fries, crinkle fries, tater tots, sweet potato fries, onion rings, eggplant fries and she said the zucchini fries. That's a "secret" item not even on the menu so I went for it. My husband ordered the Jumbo Cheeseburger Platter. This is what he got.

Before this burger is cooked it's 17 oz. It's huge. It's delicious. It looked like a entire meatloaf on a bun. The zucchini fries were incredible.

According to The Cooperstown Diner website "Our famous diner has had many famous diners...such as celebrities Ron Howard, Gregory Hines, and past and modern day baseball Hall-of-Famers!"
