Where are all of the blue jeans going?  For the first time in a long time, the sales of traditional blue jeans are falling.  16 billion dollars worth, to be precise.  Crazy huh?  These things have been around forever and I continually protest that we should wear jeans more often, to include sporting them in the workplace.  Why the decline?  Comfort, simple as that.  Women say jeans make your legs tight, which is why many are turning to yoga pants or other active wear.  Fortunately, the yoga pants hasn’t caught on for men just yet.  Let’s keep it that way.

Days are gone where everybody wore jeans, but men still prefer their comfort-ability.

According to the market research, sales for “active wear” climbed 7 percent in their last fiscal year. Jean companies are taking notice and may be getting in on the action themselves, in an effort to keep sales up. They are even now putting knit and rayon into the denim fabric to make them feel more like a legging.  Leave my jeans alone please!

No doubt that jeans are here to stay, they just may have some competition for the time being.
