Voice Texts Aren’t Safer Than Regular Texts
I read a story the other day about a woman in Colorado who attempted to send a voice text message while driving and she ended up colliding with a guardrail. The guardrail made its way through her seat and ended up impaling her right where the sun doesn't shine.
As I drive around the Mohawk Valley, I see more and more people paying more attention to their phones then to the road. Not good folks, not good. Even though a voice text is not looking at the phone for longer period of time, it is still taking your eyes off of the road, even if it is just for a couple of seconds. Anything can happen in those 2 seconds, as this story tells us. I have to say, it definitely is getting scary out there. Take a moment to stop your vehicle to do what you need to do on your phone, if it can't wait until you reach your destination. Use this poor girl's mishap as a lesson to all.
