The Utica Zoo officially unveiled its new digital sign and metal sculpture with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday.

The sign and sculpture are located at the entrance to the Zoo at the corner of the Memorial Parkway and Utica Zoo Way.

Martha and Richard Widdicombe of Utica donated the new sculpture and LED sign to the zoo.

"Utica has a fabulous tradition of art along the Memorial Parkway and I feel that new art should be collected and displayed in the City of Utica." said Richard Widdicombe.  "The zoo needed more presence and some people take for granted or forget that it is right in their backyard."

The art installation was designed and created by Joel Grimaldi of Metallogix.
