Utica Police Department, officer "Wolf" to get body armor thanks to a donation from Vested Interest in K-9's located in East Taunton, Massachusetts.

Wolf will receive a bullet and stab-protective vest all made possible by a donation from an anonymous sponsor that wants to be known only as Gifted by"Hasday-Be Safe-Be Strong".

Vested Interest in K-9's was founded in 2009 to assist law enforcement with the the potentially life-saving  body armor. Vested Interest has provided more than 2,800 protective vests in all 50 states

To outfit an officer the cost is $950 and each vest is valued at $1,744-$2,283. Each vest has a 5 year warranty and they weigh 4 to 5 pounds depending on the szce of the K-9 officer.

K-9 officer Wolf is one of the newest members of the Utica police's K-9 Team. He's specialized/certified in bomb detection and patrol duties. He and his partner, Officer Sean Bubnis are assigned to the Patrol Division.

K-9 Wolf's vest is expected to arrive within 8 to 10 weeks.
