Beginning September 1, visitors to the Utica Memorial Auditorium will no longer be able to leave the venue during events.

The Utica Aud's official website has the small announcement posted under their 'Box Office' tab located under 'The Arena' drop down menu.

Here's the official announcement:

As of September 1, 2016, the Utica Memorial Auditorium will have a No Re-Entry policy for all events.

This policy comes from the direction of the Upper Mohawk Valley Memorial Auditorium Authority Chairman, Carl Annese. “For the safety of our fans, there will be no re-entry at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The policy is meant to provide a safe environment to enjoy all the events at The AUD,” said Annese.

A spokesperson from the Aud told WIBX the no re-entry policy does apply to smokers, and the Aud will be implementing security wands as well as walk through metal detectors in the near future.
