UPDATED 3/5 5:47 p.m.- The lockdown of Utica College campus that had been in place for most of the day on Monday was lifted just after 5:00 p.m.

Utica College officials say residential students can return to their residence halls and commuters, faculty and staff can collect their belongings

They say law enforcement will remain on campus this evening and continue the investigation.

The lockdown was put in place after the college received a "real and credible threat" on Monday morning.

Utica Police say there was no active shooter on the campus and there are no reports of any injuries.

The New Hartford, Utica, Sauquoit Valley, New York Mills, Whitesboro and Westmoreland School Districts, along with Notre Dame High School, were all paced on lockout as a precaution.

Update 12:30 pm: Oneida County Department of Emergency Services says there is NO active shooter on the campus of Utica College:

The following was posted on the Utica College Facebook page at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Armed uniformed officers will be clearing buildings as soon as possible. Comply with all law enforcement instructions. If you are sheltered in place, you will be evacuated and escorted to a safe location. Please stay where you are until directed by law enforcement.

Utica College is currently on lockdown.
