U2’s Tour Surpasses Stones

Irish rock band U2's "360 Degrees" tour has become the most successful of all time, Billboard reported Monday.

A sold-out show Sunday night in Sao Paulo pushed the tour past the $554 million record set by The Rolling Stones'' "Bigger Bang" tour, which ran from 2005 through 2007.

When the band completes the remaining 26 dates, it is expected that the tour will bring in $700 million in revenue. The final date is set for July 30 in Moncton, Canada.

The US leg of the tour was delayed in May 2010 when U2 frontman Bono underwent emergency back surgery

in Munich after injuring himself while preparing for the tour.

U2's manager, Paul McGuinness, said the dollar figure for the tour "looks enormous," but said that the band spends "enormous sums on production for their audience."
