For many parents in Central NY, when the retail giant closed this past summer we wondered how we were going to live without the only dedicated toy store left in the area. Now, it looks as if Geoffrey's Toys 'R' Us along with the 'Babies' brand will both be resurrected. The company was supposed to auction off it's naming rights to put the final nail in the coffin, but backed out. Here's what we know from their recent court filing:

The company said it is considering "a new, operating Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us branding company," the filing said. The plan would "create new, domestic, retail operating businesses under the Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us names, as well as expand its international presence and further develop its private brands business."

It doesn't look as if such an effort will be able to rescue the 2018 Christmas season, but perhaps for 2019?
