Tour the Scenic Adirondacks on One of Kind Railbikes
See a part of the scenic Adirondacks as never seen before. Take a ride on a portion of the Adirondack railroad, closed to the public for 35 years, on rail bikes. For the first time in the USA, Rail Explorers are bringing the pedal powered railbikes to the six miles of historic railroad between Saranac Lake and Lake Clear.
You'll ride by streams, across lakes and through forests that few have accessed before.
Share the experience in the two seat railbike, or bring the family and ride together in the four seat railbike.
Railbike Routes
Railbike journeys are available in both directions between Saranac Lake and Lake Clear Junction. The 6 mile journey takes approximately one hour. You can get back where you started on a shuttle bus or return on the railbikes, but you'll need to buy a separate ticket for the return home.
Rail Explorers opens today with owners Mary Joy Lu & Alex Catchpoole running tours Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 am - 7:00 pm until August. You can get more information by following Rail Explorers on Facebook, by calling (518) 460-1444, or at RailExplorers.net.
