Top Halloween Cocktails And Drink Recipes
Looking to hold a Monster Mash? Your'e gonna need some pretty awesome drinks. Here's a collection of the top Halloween Cocktails and drink recipes/ideas.
The Voodoo Child
According to Esquire, this recipe gets it's name from a Jimi Hendrix song,'Voodoo Chile'.
.75 oz Smith & Cross Pot Still Rum
.75 oz Barbancourt White Rum
.75 oz St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur
.75 oz Cointreau
1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
.5 oz fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
1 dash Angostura Bitters
6 dashes chili tincture (or lighter-bodied hot sauce)
Combine all ingredients into a mixing tin, add your ice, and shake aggressively for about 20 seconds. Strain over fresh ice into a tumbler and get creative with your garnish. Dry ice? Cayenne-dusted lime wheels? Thinly-sliced fresh red chili? Fugu powder? Up to you."
If you use the dry ice, imagine having smoke pour out of it, pretty cool.
Bleeding Heart Martini
Is it possible to have a heart in your cocktail that bleeds into your drink? Probably not the best combination. This drink recipe from Martha Stewart sounds amazing though:
- 2 ounces dry vermouth
- 8 ounces premium gin
- Ice cubes
- 4 , each placed on a cocktail skewer Pickled Baby Beets
Chill 4 martini glasses in the freezer or fill with ice water and let sit until frosty, about 5 minutes (pour out water). Add the vermouth, dividing evenly; swirl to coat the glasses, then pour out. Add gin to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until chilled; divide among chilled glasses. Garnish each with a skewered pickled baby beet, and serve immediately.
The beets bleed into your drink, much better then a real life heart.
Candy Corn Drink
Honestly, candy corn has to be the lamest Halloween candy ever. Let's shake things up a bit with this drink recipe from Better Homes and Gardens.
- 1 4-serving-size packagelemon-flavor gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 cups mango nectar
- 3 1/2 cups orange carbonated beverage, chilled
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Candy corn (optional)
1) In a large bowl combine gelatin and the boiling water, stirring until gelatin is dissolved. Stir in the mango nectar. Pour mixture into a tall, clear 2-quart pitcher. Cover and chill about 2 hours or until thickened but not set. Gently pour* orange carbonated beverage over gelatin layer in pitcher.
2) In a large bowl combine whipping cream and honey. Beat with an electric mixer or large whisk just until stiff peaks form (tips stand straight). Spoon over mixtures in pitcher. If desired, add candy. Before serving, stir to muddle.
*Test Kitchen Tip: To ensure that the carbonated beverage stays on top of the gelatin mixture, hold a wooden spoon above the gelatin layer and pour the carbonated beverage over the back of the spoon.
Finally a way to enjoy Candy Corn as an adult!
Remember to always drink responsibly, but this drink may send you to the "Graveyard" aka the white bowl at the end of the night if you drink to many. It's a great recipe from Webtender:
- 1 or 1/2 pint Triple sec
- 1 or 1/2 pint Bacardi 151 proof rum
- 1 or 1/2 pint Vodka
- 1 or 1/2 pint Gin
- 1 or 1/2 pint Tequila
- 1 or 1/2 pint Bourbon
- 1 or 1/2 pint Scotch
Mix the 5 whites and 2 whiskies in a beer mug in equal amounts. Top up the rest of the mug with half beer and half stout.
I plan on making this one the drink of my night for Halloween.
