Tom Petty's death has left a hole in the hearts of his musical peers. As you can see from the videos below, many of them have responded by performing his songs in concert on stages all over the world.

His fellow musicians, fans and the future of rock music were also touched by his death. After his passing on Monday, tributes in words and music have poured in on social-media posts and from stages around the world. We've collected just a sampling of these musical tributes below.

The social-media tributes have come from far and wide -- from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, who dedicated his the first preview of his new Broadway show to his "long lost brother" to Petty's former Traveling Wilburys bandmate Bob Dylan, who found the news "crushing." And there were so many more: hard rockers, indie rockers, country artists, metalheads, actors, politicians and, of course, millions of fans.

So it's not surprising that such a wide variety of his peers have performed his songs in tribute over the past few days. It's notable that these covers — performed by everyone from Hanson and Little Steven to Miley Cyrus and Emmylou Harris — run the gamut of Petty's decades of hits. Certain songs receive repeated attention; several artists performed "Free Fallin'," from Petty's 1989 solo debut, Full Moon Fever. "Wildflowers" from his 1994 solo album of the same name received a bunch of love too.

Undoubtedly, many more musical tributes to Petty will be coming in the following days, weeks and months. We will update this page periodically, so be sure to check out some excellent selections below.
