Tips to Avoid Lower Back Pain
It doesn't take much to put yourself in a lot of pain and misery, In fact, It's really easy!
Lift something you shouldn't and do it the wrong way, boy will your body let you know what you just did is going to cost you with a very sore back. The reality is you have probably aggravated your sciatica and you're not going to be pleasant to be around for the next 3 to 5 days, maybe sooner or maybe longer depending on the amount of trouble you have caused yourself by trying to get back normal sooner than you should.
I've been the not so happy recipient of lower back pain that has stopped me dead in my tracks more times than I care to remember. My condolences go out to any one that has been down that road. There's no pain like back pain.
We reached out to a friend that happens to be a Chiropractor. Dr. LaBarbera. Dr. LaBarbera had three things that would help keep your back from giving you trouble. Some things you may have never thought of doing.
Always try to squat instead of bending at the waist when you need to do things like tying your shoes or picking up something on the floor(or lifting those grandkids up)
Stand with one foot slightly in front of the other with the weight of your body transferred from the front thigh into a counter or bathroom vanity when brushing your teeth, washing your face or doing the dishes.
Finally, this is a good one. When using the vacuum cleaner, have the same leg forward corresponding to the same hand cleaner with. The vacuum cleaner should be positioned to the front side of you. Shuffle your feet as you move across the floor never bringing your back foot in front of the other. This will keep you upright and prevent a strain on your spine and pelvis.
Remember: A healthy spine and nervous system is a healthier you!
