Don't ruin Valentine's Day for that special person in your life. Here's a few things you shouldn't do.

1 - Be on Your Phone All Day

Valentine's Day is a day of love, and showing the people around you how much you appreciate them. It's hard to show your appreciation if you're glued to your phone all night. Just put it down. Unless you're taking pictures of your special night, there's no reason why you need to be playing on it.

2 - Not Planning

You don't need to have all the day's activities set in stone, but if you have no idea what you're doing for Valentine's Day, you're going to be in some hot water. At least have somewhat of a plan. Know that you're going to get a gift, know that you're going out to eat. You can figure out the small details later, but don't leave everything to 'let's see what happens.'

3 - Fighting

This is a no-brainer. Put your differences aside for the day. Are you angry because your husband forgot to do the dishes again (after he said he would take care of it?) Let it go. Don't ruin Valentine's Day by being upset over things that don't matter for the day. If you're upset about something that happened on Valentine's Day, that's different. Otherwise, save those disagreements for later.

4 - Working

If you actually have to go to work on Sunday, there's not a lot you can do about this one. But you can at least have a plan to do something before or after work. If you're trying to get caught up on work from home, push it aside for Valentine's Day. Either take care of it on Saturday, or deal with it after your Valentine's Day celebrations. Caring about work more than your significant other is going to leave some hurt feelings. Don't do that.

5 - Being Distracted

Want to watch something on TV? Record it and watch it later. Worried about work? See above statement. Valentine's Day is about your other half, not you. Don't be thinking about things that need to get done, what you would rather be doing, or anything like that. Take time out for your significant other, with NO DISTRACTIONS!
