No Columbus did not sail on this ship, his was much smaller can remember learning about Columbus sailing to the Americas in 1492. I think those were some pretty stout men that made that voyage.

Replicas of two of Christopher Columbus'  are currently making their way to Oswego and should be tied up in Oswego Harborby Friday of this week and staying until Sunday. While the ships were in Albany they had hundreds of people come aboard the two ships, they are floating museums.

I don't know about you but no way would I would make that trip across the Atlantic ocean. All I can think about is the movie Perfect Storm about life fishing the North Atlantic.

Believe it or not, these are working ships that have 12 crew members on each ship. This is not a weekend gig. The crew sails all over the Eastern half of the country making 30 to 40 stops to let the public tour each of the ships. The crew is on board for months at a time and even sleep on board. Just remember when you see these ships these guys crossed the ocean NO FEAR as they say.

On an average day in Albany, the crew has seen about 1200 people come on board to learn and have some fun on the Hudson. the ships will be docked Friday through Sunday from 10a to 6p for tours.
