A new gameplay trailer for The Sims 4 has been released, showing how the game’s improved character AI will lead to weird situations.

The trailer gives us a look at some key moments in the lives of Sims, and shows how those moments can shape their futures and put them in bizarre scenarios. A drink thrown in the face of a sad girl leads to her picking up the guitar to sing the blues, which results in her becoming a rock star as an adult. An astronaut trains his body and builds a backyard spaceship before taking a trip to space. A pair of dating luchadores squabble over a chess game before becoming the life of the party. There’s plenty of other ridiculous situations presented, including an old lady electrocuting herself trying to fix her remote, a man caught on the toilet with a tablet, and a businessman wetting his pants while his maid sweeps the floor.

EA angered some gamers by removing toddlers and swimming pools from The Sims 4, presumably to include them in later DLC packs that will cost nearly as much as the core game. Despite these omissions and EA’s somewhat unsavory business model for the game, The Sims 4 looks great, and should offer fans the best-looking, most in-depth simulated human experience to date when it launches on Sept. 2.
