The iconic 1428 Elm Street address in the 1984 classic horror film is actually 1428 North Genesee Ave in Los Angeles, but if you're okay with a different street sign and happen to have an extra $2.1 million lying around, you can purchase a piece of Hollywood history, sans dream-invading baddies.

That doesn't look all that bad! It's interesting that nowhere in the listing can you find mention of Freddy or the movie because that would sure attract me where I in the market, yet maybe they're worried about scaring away potential buyers. I mean, Freddy only comes out when you sleep so if you can down the $2 Mil easily, just use it as a day house and pull another couple million out of the change jar and grab a different house to crash at night. (Maybe this other horror house). But that's the bad news, the good news is the interior wasn't used at all in the movie at all and here's what the realty company says about it:

Spectacular Traditional/Modernist Fusion in this 2 -story, Spaulding Square home. Situated mid-block on a picturesque tree-lined street, your buyers are greeted by a classic center hall floor plan, with formal rooms to the front of the home, and open-plan kitchen/family room to the rear, flowing to lovely pool, garden and full 'guest house' with kitchen and bath. Upstairs, 3 gracious bedrooms, including custom built-ins, designer closets and en suite baths, including master suite with floating spa tub and floor to ceiling tile, custom designed walk-in closet and so much more. Black American Walnut wide-plank floors throughout home, chef's kitchen with custom cabinets, Caesar stone counters, Bertazzoni stove and center island. "Guest house" is one bed/1bath. All redone for the current owner. Refined design aesthetic and finesse in every detail, this turn-key property includes everything for in-town living, with privacy, sophistication and serenity.

I dunno, any time I hear of something being refined it begs the question of what was it like before? Like maybe the remodel was because the interior really WAS used in the movie and they had to gut the house in order to sell it to a prospective buyer (who likes their guts where they are). They say money can't buy happiness but even if it can, I wonder if it can buy good dreams? Bet you won't find Nyquil in their medicine cabinet... Sleep tight.
