John Kay and Steppenwolf comes to the NYS Fair for the second time. Their show will take place on the Experience Stage 8 pm Monday, August 27.

John Kay and Steppenwolf is one of rock's most enduring and respected bands for more than three decades. Steppenwolf is known for their impressive body of edgy, uncompromising rock 'n' roll. You'll hear Steppenwolf standards like "Born to Be Wild," "Magic Carpet Ride," "Rock Me" and "Monster" and more.

Acting New York State Fair Director Troy Waffner released a statement saying:

"We're pleased to bring back John Kay & Steppenwolf because they put on a first-class show. With the beauty of our festival ground and pond as a backdrop, this will be a great experience for the band's many fans."

The performance occurs on the first of two Senior Days, featuring free admission for those age 60 and over, on Law Enforcement Day, featuring free admission for police and corrections officers, and Midway Monday, featuring 10 rides on the Wade Shows Midway for $10.

  • Eddie Money, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 22
  • All Time Low, at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 23
  • John Kay and Steppenwolf, at 8 p.m. Monday, August 27

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 22 to September 3, 2018. The Fair's mission, reflected in its theme, "FIND YOUR GREAT," is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.
