The Movie ‘Say Anything’ Is 25 Years Old

Ok, now I feel really old.  As I was watching TV the other day, somewhat in a daze, I happened upon a recent Target commercial that mimicked the classic boom box scene from this movie.  I also noticed the person in the commercial, instead of a boom box, was holding a Target shopping basket.  Inside the basket was a blu-ray copy of the movie.

I remember seeing this movie at the theater back in 1989, and I certainly remember the classic scene where Loyd Dobler (John Cusack) serenades Diane Court (Ione Skye), dressed in a tan trench coat, holding a boom box high over his head and blasting a cassette of the song 'In Your Eyes' by Peter Gabriel.

It's Cameron Crowe's directorial debut of a story of underachiever meets overachiever, resulting in a love that was never meant to be.  If you haven't seen this movie, where have you been for 25 years?  Borrow it from someone, stream it from somewhere, whatever it takes, get it and watch it.  In the meantime, check out the classic "Boom Box" scene.
