Can you believe that the game Monopoly has been around for 80 years now?  Wow! I can remember playing the game as a kid and actually quite often still as an adult.  I have a few different versions at my house at this very moment.  My favorite is the “Peanuts” edition, which is still and will remain, wrapped in cellophane.  I have an original version, well, original from when I was a kid, and the version that I think most are accustomed to today.  I have a “Simpsons” Monopoly, a version that uses a credit card to pay, and I think a couple of other versions as well.

Always a big hit when I was growing up, and actually my kids love playing it now.  They’re still working on the strategies and the concept of owning monopolies, but I think they have the money counting thing down pretty good.

Hard to believe that this game that is older than some of our grandparents is still considered a family game night favorite.  Hey, you don’t have to plug it into the TV to play, however, there are video game versions that you can get for the game.  Not as exciting in my opinion.

When Parker brothers released the game in 1935, within a year 35,000 copies per week were being made.  I call that a hit, how about you?

Here are some things maybe you didn’t know about Monopoly.  Take a look.  Things you didn't know about Monopoly.
