Just the other day we had heard that The CW was eying a unique strategy to keep its lesser-rated series afloat, considering reduced renewal orders . Several CW series remain in limbo for the moment, but now it seems another scripted series has bitten the dust. The CW's unique, but under-viewed 'Cult' has officially been pulled from the schedule, but is it cancelled for good?

Already losing 'Emily Owens, M.D.' and wrapping up the five-season run of '90210,' it seems The CW may have added another casualty to its ranks. Sources report that the buzz-worthy, if under-watched 'Cult' has officially been pulled from its Friday schedule, likely facing official cancellation.

For the moment, repeats of 'The Carrie Diaries' and 'Oh Sit!" will fill 'Cult's slot on the Friday night lineup. 'Cult' series creator Rockne O’Bannon mostly confirmed the cancellation via Twitter, saying “Cult Sadly true. CW Execs once called the last 5 episodes ‘outstanding.’ I guess too outstanding. You are great, SMART fans. Thx to u all!”

Renewals and cancellations of The CW's other bubble series will be forthcoming, but what say you? Did 'Cult' deserve to disband, or did it go before its time? Tell us what CW series you'd like to see endure in the comments!
