An independent studio consisting of former members of Irrational Games, known for BioShock and BioShock Infinite, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its debut title, The Black Glove.

We're really excited for The Black Glove because Day for Night Games' roster consists of the team responsible for many of the things we loved about BioShock and BioShock Infinite. The Black Glove is a narrative-based and surrealistic first-person experience that seeks to continue in Irrational Games' focus on plot. The story of The Black Glove ties in directly into its gameplay, causing you to alter the events of the game, the world around you and how the story unfolds.

The Black Glove takes place in The Equinox, a dark, cabaret/1920s-style theater where dream-like surrealism is abundant. The Equinox has three resident creators/artists who have their work on display: Marison, the artist; Avery, the filmmaker and Many Embers, a musical act. All three of these acts are absolutely horrible, which has resulted in the theater being warped by bad spirits. It's up to you, The Equinox's newest Curator, to set things right. By playing bizarre games within The Black Glove, you will be able to fourth-dimensionally change each act's Medium, Message and Muse. A dull and boring portrait gallery can become a kaiju/monster autopsy scene with black lights and glow-in-the-dark body parts. Many Embers' horrible country act can be changed into classy, jazz lounge singers and Avery's cheesy 1970s disaster film can become a silent movie sci-fi masterpiece.

As of its first day, The Black Glove's Kickstarter campaign is currently sitting on $43,000+ pledged of its $550,000 goal with 31 days left to go. Pledging $20 or more will score you a digital copy of The Black Glove for PC, Mac or Linux, with all sorts of various goodies based on how much you give. According to the Kickstarter campaign, Day for Night Games expects that the game will launch around Oct. 2015.
