Washington Mills Athletic Park - This is our family's favorite place to play! No matter what outdoor fun you're looking for you will find it at this excellent summer hot spot. The park features a softball/little league field, 2 soccer fields, swings, slides, pavillion, facilities and a beautiful stream running behind it all. This is a great place to let the kids run wild while dad fires up the grill.

Proctor Park - This park offers  a larger playground area than the Washington Mills Athletic Park so if you have more little ones you might want to try this Utica favorite. There is plenty of space here to bike, walk, run, play football, baseball or basketball. A big plus is the pool which is open during the summer.

Arrowhead Park, Town of Inlet

Arrowhead Park, Inlet - This is our family's favorite Adirondack getaway. Where else in the world can a kid pretend to be a pirate on board a pirate ship while mom and dad work on their tans soaking up the rays on the beach? Our kids love this park, especially the two level pirate ship. There is also a full playground with swings and a merry-go-round. A little league field is located just behind the play ground. Then there is the beach and swimming in 4th Lake. When you want to escape a hot summer day in the city, pack up the kids and head to Arrowhead Park in Inlet just past Old Forge.

Chuck E. Cheese, New Hartford

Chuck E. Cheese - There are times when the kids have to burn off some energy but the weather isn't cooperating. When that happens we head off to Chuck E. Cheese. The kids enjoy going through the play area and off course they love playing all those fantastic gamess! The pay off comes in the end when you turn in all those tickets for a fun token to take home. One thing we enjoy doing is taking those pictures to capture the moment. My wife loves to scrapbook and this is always a highlight of the trip! Warning: this playground is not for the feint of heart!

Delta Lake, Rome

Delta Lake State Park - If you are looking to play and keep cool, but you don't want to take the drive to Inlet, then treat yourself to Delta Lake State Park. Like Arrowhead Park, Delta Lake State Park offers parents the convience of soaking up the sun while watching the kids play nearby on the playground. You can enjoy a walk through one of their nature trails before coming back and sitting down to lunch in their picnic area.

That is our Top 5 Playgrounds in Utica. Agree? Disagree? What's your top 5?
