‘Your Song,’ released in 1970 on Elton John's self-titled album, has become one of those quintessential love songs. Not only in 2004 did it rank 137 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time," it was called "a near-perfect song" by Bill Janovitz from Allmusic.com. And, that review by Janovitz is a pretty accurate one in my eyes. Not only does the song have a great melody, its lyrics are unforgettable. It is a song that will definitely be remembered for a long, long, long time. Today, I would like to share with you my Top 4 Favorite 'Your Song' Covers.

1. Ellie Goulding's version

And, here it is, my favorite version of Elton John’s ‘Your Song.’ This version was released by Ellie Goulding in 2010, and it’s the reason I’m writing this list today. Not only does Goulding have an amazingly beautiful voice, she adds a new level to the song. She makes the song, at least for me, more memorable. This version is definitely a very, very close second to the original. According to Wikipedia, Goulding performed "Your Song" at the reception party of Prince William and Catherine Middleton's wedding at Buckingham Palace on 29 April 2011, to which the newly married Royal Couple shared their first dance. She also performed the song live on Saturday Night Live on 7 May 2011.”
