Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has hit another mammoth home run, this one coming Saturday night and traveling an estimated 475-feet from home plate (video below courtesy of MLB.com). Incredibly, the blast was barehanded by a fan sitting in the upper deck of center field.

Somewhere Bill Veeck is smiling.  Baseball's ultimate showman will have some competition soon when the Miami Marlins begin play in their new ballpark.  The team is installing the most over the top home run celebration ever.

Now that 2012 is here, we decided to put together a list major sports teams that could use some uniform re-branding.

On Friday night, the Florida Marlins became no longer, officially changing their name to the Miami Marlins at a ceremony at the team’s new unfinished ballpark. The name change came as part of more sweeping changes to the club, which also also involved the unveiling of a new logo, uniforms, and colors.
