At this point, any new 'Ghostbusters' movie has been fancasted within an inch of its life. Any actor working today under the age of 40? They've been considered for the 'Ghostbusters' movie. Shoot, there's a chance you were considered to star in the 'Ghostbusters' movie. So, there's no point in going over yet another list of who should star in 'Ghostbusters 3' or whatever it is they're calling it these days. Unless, of course, the person who made that list is Bill Murray. In that case, *in rapt*.

Like some kind of restless spirit, 'Ghostbusters 3' refuses to die. Despite countless massive setbacks that would have completely derailed a film with less name recognition, the film keeps on lumbering forward, surviving countless abandoned screenplays. However, big news has arrived today, as Sony is reportedly eyeing director Paul Feig to take over the project, but will the film end up being a reboot instead of a sequel?

This Labor Day weekend, for one week only, you can see the 1984 comedy classic 'Ghostbusters' on the big screen, digitally restored in all its slimy, Stay-Puft glory. And now Sony has delivered a special 30th anniversary trailer for the film, which will also be getting a special Blu-ray re-release. Hail Gozer!

The biggest problem with the concept of 'Ghostbusters 3' is the fact that 'Ghostbusters' still very much exists and is pretty much perfect. This fact will be reconfirmed when the original is re-released later this summer as part of the film's 30th anniversary celebration, which will also include a new Blu-ray release.

In early 1984, the team behind ‘Ghostbusters’ was fairly confident that they had a hit. Test screenings had gone well, but for director Ivan Reitman, something was missing. What Reitman wanted was a song, only 20 seconds or so in length, near the opening of the film as the then soon-to-be Ghostbusters -- Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) –- enter the New York Public Library.

With the passing of Harold Ramis, we were hoping that it would also put to rest the possibility of a third 'Ghostbusters' film. But Sony announced that they are going forward with 'Ghostbusters 3,' and now director Ivan Reitman has clarified they plan to start within the next year, though he will no longer be on board as the director.

Yep, it's official: we're getting a 'Ghostbusters' LEGO set. Originally submitted last year as part of LEGO's Cuusoo competition (where fans design their own sets in hopes of them actually getting mass produced), the "Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary" set will include the iconic Ecto-1 vehicle and four figures representing Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddmore. 'Ghostbusters 3' has remained alive in fans' hearts thanks to hopeful chatter from original star Dan Aykroyd, though all the on-and-off development issues have placed this in the category of "we'll believe it when we see it." However, new reports have emerged claiming that the sequel will finally begin filming next year, perhaps even with two new stars attached.

Even though we were first introduced to these guys back in 1984, to this day we still know that if there's something strange in the neighborhood we're gonna call...the 'Ghostbusters.'

In news that should come as a surprise to no one, ever, 'Ghostbusters 3' has been delayed yet again. So this movie is just a joke to everyone at this point, right?
