It was announced yesterday that Disney purchased Lucasfilm and its subsidiaries for $4 billion, with plans to release the first movie ('Star Wars: Episode 7') in a new planned 'Star Wars' trilogy in 2015. Although the additional news that these films will be based on an original story and not on any of the spin-off book series like fans were hoping, we are reportedly still in for an exciting ride.

We were all pretty flabbergasted to hear that a 'Star Wars: Episode 7' was in the works and that Disney would be behind the next big-screen chapter in the 'Star Wars' franchise. But there were a couple people who weren't -- the original Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

Yesterday morning I called George Lucas a huge sell out, which I still believe. But, the one thing I did have wrong is where he spends his cash. He doesn't go around buying new Millienium Falcons, or beamers. Lucas donates a lot of his cash to charity. Lucas will be giving the majority of the money he got for selling Lucasfilm to educational philanthropy.
