Tucked away, up a daunting, unwelcoming flight of outdoor stairs, far, far from the madness of Hall H panels and the other madness of the San Diego Comic-Con floor is vestibule of once or still famous human beings signing autographs for the attendee’s pleasure. (At least, the attendees who ever make it upstairs.) Anyway, I kept a running diary of aimlessly walking around Comic-Con for a few hours. Here’s how that went:

If it's Saturday at Comic-Con, it's time for the big guns to come out, and Warner Bros. has done that with some serious style. The studio's panel opened with a big, bruising look at 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,' thanks to a new trailer (and more on that to come -- much more!), before director Zack Snyder trotted out stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot to greet their fans.

When Warner Bros. announced its Comic-Con 2014 film lineup, 'Batman vs. Superman' was not on the list, which seemed more than a bit odd at the time. Now we know it was all just a rouse to give the surprise panel more impact.

The 'Walking Dead' season 5 trailer finally debuted at Comic-Con 2014 during AMC's panel for the hit zombie-drama, but if you weren't there to see it, thanks to the magic of the internet, you can watch it right now and see what all the fuss is about!

One of the films we're looking forward to the most at Comic-Con 2014 this week is Marvel's 'Ant-Man,' which recently picked up director Peyton Reed and writer Adam McKay -- not too shabby. Last year, 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' ended on a huge cliffhanger that promised a fiery start to 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.' The new poster for the third film in director Peter Jackson's Middle Earth prequel trilogy takes the final images from the previous film and runs with them, promising a showdown that fans of the book have been waiting three years to see.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' has already begun screening for press and the early word is that it's good, lives up to the hype, is the kind of movie that 'Star Wars' prequels should have been and so on and so forth. And that's all well and good, but this is a Marvel Studios movie so we have one big question: what about the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' post-credits scene...

Are you guys ready for Comic-Con 2014? Fox has just given you another reason to get excited about the San Diego mega convention, with the reveal of the 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Blu-ray set, which comes with a replica of Caesar's head, and can be pre-ordered exclusively at the con! It's one human-made product that we think even apes would approve of.

A few weeks ago saw Warner Bros. unleashing its full docket of Comic-Con 2014 panels, but 20th Century Fox and the fine folk at FX are certainly no slouches.
