‘Jaws 19’ Gets a Trailer to Celebrate the ‘Back to the Future’ 30th Anniversary
As any movie fan worth their salt will undoubtedly recall, Back to the Future Part II imagined a timeline in which we had hoverboards, automatic lace-up sneakers, futuristic Pepsi (more on that here), and…Jaws 19. Robert Zemeckis’ time-traveling sequel was almost eerily prescient in its imagining of the future of blockbuster franchises, and now there’s an official trailer for Jaws 19 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the best film franchises in history.

Everyone knows that 2015 is the year that Marty McFly and Doc Brown journey to in Back to the Future Part II. In fact, the slightly more obsessive fans have even more reason to celebrate, as the Back to the Future animated series from the early ‘90s is coming to DVD for the first time.

And now, Lexus may have one-upped them, releasing a teaser video revealing a sneak peek at an actual working hoverboard.

I'm pretty excited for 2015 because Back To The Future 2 made it seem like we'd have everything by now. I'm expecting flying cars, time machines, and a new Jaws movie. We probably won't get any of those items, but I'll settle for the Nike self-tying power lace shoes. Nike just announced they will actually make these.

There Will Never Be a ‘Back to the Future’ Sequel or Reboot
It's almost surprising at this point that there has not been a 'Back to the Future' reboot or sequel. When you look back at the popular and successful properties of the 80s, there are few that haven't been modernized. Sony is practically falling all over themselves to get a new 'Ghostbusters' in theaters. This year alone saw new 'RoboCop,' 'Muppets,' 'Ninja Turtles,' 'Jump Street' and 'Transformers' movies. But, despite the frequency of these remakes, it doesn't look like you'll ever see a new 'Back to the Future' movie. And, that's a pretty great thing.
