A $30.00 Lottery scratch-off ticket makes a Syracuse woman 10 million dollars richer.

Can you even imagine? We sure can't, but we do think it's fantastic! The lucky winner is Tarea Teasley, 56 of Syracuse, and here's the sequence of events that made her a millionaire.

  • Makes the usual stop at Tops on 620 Nottingham Road in Syracuse.
  • Plays a New York Lottery scratch-off and wins $50 bucks.
  • Takes $30 of the winnings and tries her luck on the $350,000,000 Cash Spectacular scratch-off.
  • Wins 10 Million dollars.

Syracuse.com reports Tarea, 56, will receive her 10 million dollar prize as a one-time lump sum totaling $6,718,000 after required withholdings. She's married with five children and ten grandchildren. She plans on helping her family with college costs and finishing her master's degree.

Syracuse.com says as of Monday there was still three top prize winning tickets unclaimed and three $250,000 second-prize winning tickets available. The chance of winning the $10 million jackpot is 1 in 3,312,480, according to the lottery.
