Two teenage fishermen from Central New York in the Syracuse area are heading to Tennessee to fish in the B.A.S.S. National High School Championships coming up July 22-25.

17 year old Michael Arndt of North Syracuse, and 17 year old Ryan Hujar of Cicero, qualified after their team won the state B.A.S.S. high school tournament held June 7th on Owasco Lake.   According to Syracuse.com, this will be Michaels second trip to the national bass fishing competition.

"I'm definitely more confident. I'm looking to do better, " he said, adding that last year he finished in the bottom half of the standings.

Each member of the winning team at Kentucky Lake will earn a $1,000 college scholarship, plus the team will win a Tracker bass boat from Bass Pro Shops.
