Somehow a 25-pound dog managed to survive a 110-mile ride on the hot engine of a pickup truck in California ! Driver Jaime Magaña said he felt his Chevrolet Silverado move slightly after he stopped in San Clemente , having driven all the way from Chino . He also noticed fur above the left front tire and he opened the hood to find a 25-pound dog atop the engine. Temperatures outside were nudging 100 degrees. Magaña called for help and an animal control officer put the dog, nicknamed Chevy, into her air conditioned truck. Amazingly the dog perked right up and was fine. The search is now on to try and find the dog's owner. Magaña says he's seen the dog hanging around in his Chino neighborhood.
