Drums Along The Mohawk has announced that one of the top touring drum and bugle corps will be stopping in Rome THIS SUNDAY to spend the day rehearsing. The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from Casper, WY have performed at Drums Along The Mohawk for many years and will be back at this year's competition on July 29. But they're making an extra appearance this year, and it's open to the public. They will be holding what's called an "Instructional Rehearsal" on Sunday, July 5 at Rome Free Academy High School on Dart Circle in Rome.

When these groups practice, it's SERIOUS. The extreme concentration, the repition of passages to make sure every note and every beat is just right. When they say they will be rehearsing from noon to dusk, you can probably expect them to be playing for a solid 6-8 hours with just a few short breaks. Depending on when you stop by, you could watch them practice the same song over and over for an hour! But it's this intense, rigorous pace that makes them such an exciting spectacle to see and hear.
