One of the most notable races in Saratoga is the Travers Stakes which dates back to 1864. It's a one-and-a-quarter-mile "Midsummer Derby" for three-year-olds and is the oldest major thoroughbred race in America. The Buffalo News Says: The three Triple Crown race winners could face off in the Travers for the first time since 1982. Always Dreaming (Derby), Cloud Computing (Preakness) and Tapwrit (Belmont) are all pointing towards the meet’s feature race. The 3-year old male division championship will likely be decided on Aug. 26.

New York Racing Association (NYRA) has racing six days a week, gates open at 11 am, and the first post is 1:00 pm. The racetrack is closed on Tuesdays.
