As a former tour guide at the F.X. Matt Brewery, I'm always interested to share the latest brews news about my Alma Mater. A number of Saranac beers have won gold medals in the "World Beer Awards 2014" competition.

Here are the details, according to Meghan Fraser at saranac.com:

"The World Beer Awards just announced the 2014 results, and Saranac received some major medals! We entered 4 beers into the competition, and we have a medal to show for every single one, and even a 5th medal!

Here's what we won...

Saranac Imperial IPA-TWO Gold Medals: one for "World's Best Imperial IPA" and one for "America's Best Imperial IPA"

Saranac Pale Ale-Gold Medal for America's Pale Ale Category

Saranac Single Malt-Gold Medal for "America's Best Wood Aged Beer"

Saranac Legacy IPA-Silver Medal for America's IPA Category

This brings our medal count to 18 for 2014. Within that number, we've won 7 gold medals for our core beers. In other words, our core beers are continually professionally judged to be some of the BEST in the world."

What else can you say to that but "Cheers"!
