The Salvation Army has two fixed locations and two roaming canteens serving meals and offering free cleanup supplies.  The fixed locations are the Dollar General store in Mohawk and the Salvation Army Church at 431 North Prospect in Herkimer.  In addition the rolling canteens travel throughout the towns of Herkimer and Mohawk for meals.

The Salvation Army could use donations of nonperishable food items like apples, oranges, pop tarts, granola bars and other snacks for breakfast tomorrow.  If you would like to lend a hand in person, they ask that you contact Mohawk Valley Volunteers to arrange when and where help is needed.  You can call them at (315) 223-3973.

To date, volunteers have contributed more than 2500 man hours and the Salvation Army has served nearly 4,000 meals.
