Slow news day? Roger Clark, a reporter for NY1 in New York City recently wrapped up a report on the 2013 US Air Guitar Championships by jamming out to 'Tom Sawyer' by Rush. The video comes from Monday (July 1), Canada Day. Clark indicates he was paying tribute to Canadians everywhere with his unabashed version of the hit song.

The Northeast Semifinals for the 2013 US Air Guitar Championships were held on July 2 at the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan. The room is nearly empty as Clark jumps around in his dark slacks and three-button shirt, never losing a grip on his microphone or notes. It's not quite as impressive as Eric Clapton or Jimmy Page jamming with a lit cigarette between his lips, but it's of the same spirit.

Back in the studio, anchor Pat Kiernan can hardly hold back his lack of enthusiasm. "It was very legitimate-looking," he says at the end of the nearly minute-long clip.

"I think I hurt my back, Pat," an out of breath Clarks says at the end. Rush were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As for the Air Guitar contest itself, Mean Melin ended up winning the semifinal, using a Jefferson Starship song to clinch.
