Route 51 in Ilion needs a little more work than originally thought.  Consequently, it will remain closed until week's end.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation's James PIccola, another slope near the mudslide requires additional stabilization.  Because a contractor was already at the scene working on the first problem, he says they will continue working in the area until the second problem is fixed as well.

Route 51 near the Ilion Gorge is expected to be reopened by the end of this week or early next week.
