A Rome man and soldier has been killed over the weekend in an apparent hit-and-run accident. The incident occurred in the hamlet of Latham, NY.

Colonie Police have confirmed the death of 57-year-old Rudolph Seabron, who was a Master Sergeant of the New York National Guard, and a former United State Marine who fought in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. Police say the incident occurred on Watervliet-Shaker Road, under the I-87 overpass in Latham. Seabron was in the Capitol Region for weekend drills as part of his National Guard service.

Car parts were left behind at the scene of the accident, and authorities believe they belong to a newer model Mazda SUV. Seabron's body was discovered lying in the road, and was possibly hit by another vehicle. The driver of that car stopped to contact police. News 10 out of Albany, NY reports Seabron was a father of three. According to Seabron's LinkedIn page, he was also a shuttle driver at Turning Stone Resort Casino. Police are doing all they can to find the person responsible.
