Rome Man Charged With Impersonating A Cop

A Rome man has been arrested for impersonating a police officer on Route 49 in the Town of Floyd.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 25-year old Kevin Ehlert identified himself with a police badge and directed a motorist to slow down

Ehlert was pulled over by police on Black River Boulevard in Rome where he admitted to using the badge.

Police took the badge and Ehlert was cited for criminal impersonation.
