Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones say they will pay for the funeral services of blues guitarist Hubert Sumlin. Sumlin, guitar player for Howlin' Wolf, passed away Sunday at the age of 80. Jagger and Richards will pay for Sumlin's entire funeral which includes a private service today in Homewood, Illinois, and yesterday's service in Towata, New Jersey. Sumlin, who was recently ranked 43 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarist, was an inspiration for the band:

Richards played on Sumlin's 2006 album, About Them Shoes. "Hubert was an incisive yet delicate blues player," Jagger said today, "a wonderful foil for Howlin' Wolf's growling vocal style . . . He was an inspiration to us all." - RollingStone.com
