The Rome Police Department is seeking the public's help in an investigation into a serious assault case. In the early hours of Monday morning, a male resident of Curtis Street in Rome was awakened by the sound of his car alarm. When he exited his residence he discovered three men looking through his vehicle.

After confronting the suspects, the Curtis Street resident was attacked, causing multiple injuries. Another male then exited the residence, and he was assaulted as well. His injuries are described as serious. During the assault one of the attackers showed a knife. Eventually the three men fled on foot and were last seen running southbound on Madison Street towards West Court Street. According to The Rome Police Department's release, the men are described as one black male, and two Hispanic males. All three are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.
